It can be challenging to navigate areas where you may feel stuck in patterns that aren’t serving you anymore, speaking up for what you need from others, or feeling comfortable sharing the purest form of yourself with others.

Given the present occurrences in the US, which has made life harder for many individuals, this has taken on special importance in the psychology field. I support anyone who is subjected to persecution and discrimination, and my office is a secure setting for bringing up these concerns. I am aware of the importance of therapy that is attentive to cultural differences as well as the challenges that oppressed communities face in society, particularly the stigma attached to mental health. All of you is welcome in therapy.

TRAINED IN:

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Expressive arts Therapy

My Mission:
Our race, ethnicity, and cultural identity likely influences how we perceive ourselves and the world around us. My mission is to offer all clients culturally relevant services and meet them in their particular journey. Everyone is welcome in therapy. The therapy journey is not linear; and together we can discover many aspects of yourself that can even be new for you. Come as you are, I am looking forward to working with you through this healing path.
My Journey:
While volunteering in my mother’s Sunday school classes, I worked with students who needed accommodations to be successful in the classroom, and this influenced my desire to pursue my master’s degree in school psychology. Through this program I got the opportunity to provide individual and group intervention services as well as evaluative assessments in public and therapeutic settings. My interest in group and individual therapy grew through this time, and I made the decision to pursue my Psy.D. so I would be able to provide a variety of mental health services. My internship at a university counseling center further fueled my passion for providing therapy and influenced my decision to utilize my training and knowledge in mindfulness, DBT, CBT, and the Gottman Method in a private practice setting. I look forward to connecting with, and offering support to, my community.

Self-Care Rituals:

I enjoy cooking, listening to music, creating art, reading, and spending time with friends, family, and my fourteen-year-old cat Boots. After a day of work, you can usually find me taking a stroll if the weather is nice and then cooking myself a nice dinner while watching Gilmore Girls!
