Born and raised in Florida, I fell in love with the field of psychology while attending the University of Florida. I worked in community mental health after college, and applied to graduate school so I could continue my education and make a positive impact on the communities around me. I completed both my Master’s and Doctorate at the University of South Alabama, before making the move to Dallas. In addition to my work as a therapist, I’ve spent the last several years providing training and supervision to developing clinicians, as well as teaching Intro to Psychology at the undergraduate level. When I'm not at work you can find me reading, watching documentaries, or hanging with my sweet rescue pup. I also still love the beachy vibe of my home state of Florida, so I might be one of the only people in Dallas who doesn’t mind the heat! My own self-care practices involve a few minutes of deep breathing, spending time with my support network, listening to the Hamilton soundtrack at full blast, and dancing like nobody’s watching!
As a psychologist, I consider it an honor to be part of someone’s personal growth and change. That being said, I believe we both play a crucial role in creating a space that allows for that growth and change to take place. In our work together, you would bring the deep knowledge of your own history, lived experiences, and intersecting identities. I intentionally create space to learn from you in this way, while using my professional knowledge and my own personal experiences to be a source of support, perspective, and guidance. In this way, I view the work we do as a collaborative effort, built on a solid foundation of warmth, trust, and connection. I deeply value authenticity and transparency, and would invite us to share honest and genuine feedback with one another to ensure our work is moving you toward the life you desire.
Finally, I consider the therapeutic relationship to be a sacred and unique one. In this space, all of you is welcome. Every emotion, fear, reaction, and question is valid and worth exploring with care and reverence. My deepest hope for our work together is that you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, that you feel both challenged and supported, and that our time together empowers you to live your most full and authentic life.
