You may find yourself stuck in the same painful relationship patterns, wanting closeness but also fearing rejection or conflict. Maybe you’ve learned to minimize your own needs to keep the peace, or to carry more than your share in order to hold things together. Or perhaps you’re still healing from experiences that made it hard to feel safe in your own body or to trust others with your story.

I work with individuals and couples navigating trauma, emotional disconnection, and the complexity of being in relationship with others, with culture, and with yourself. Our work together will help you understand what your patterns are trying to protect, so you can begin responding from compassion rather than fear. I help clients build awareness of their emotions, strengthen their sense of self, and move toward relationships that feel more authentic, balanced, and secure.

As a Chinese American woman and child of immigrants, I understand how cultural expectations can shape how we love, express, and belong. In therapy, we’ll honor your cultural roots while making space for your voice, your values, and your healing. You deserve a space where every part of you, your history, your identity, your heart, is welcome.

My Mission:
My insistent hope is to help my clients through unhelpful patterns, shame, and disconnection into increased understanding, healing, and connection with themselves and others. While co-creating safety and trust, I relish seeing the therapeutic relationship used to practice new ways of being.
My Journey:
Following graduation from NYU with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies, I worked as an anesthesia technician while taking pre-med classes and preparing for medical school—or so I thought. I followed a gut feeling toward the field of mental health and began my graduate training in counseling psychology. In 2019 I received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Texas Woman’s University and then continued my studies at the doctoral level. I am currently a counseling psychology doctoral candidate at TWU.

FAQs

  • How do you work with purity culture?
With care and consent. We unpack messages about self-worth, bodies, and desire; explore their impact; and support you in forming values that feel authentic and empowering.

  • How do attachment styles impact adult relationships?
They shape how we seek closeness, handle conflict, and develop trust. Awareness plus practice with new ways of relating to the self and others can create more secure relational patterns.

  • Can therapy help me move toward a more secure attachment style?
Yes. Through corrective emotional experiences, establishing and upholding boundaries, and intentional nervous-system work, many people become more secure over time.

Self-Care Rituals:

Enjoying nature via a picnic, gardening, hiking, or napping in a hammock with my dog. I also enjoy jogging, tennis, and yoga to de-stress and feel into my body.
