It takes real courage to reach out for support, especially when you’ve learned to push through pain, minimize what you feel, or carry things alone. Maybe you’ve survived experiences that left you constantly on alert, unsure of when to trust others or even your own body. Or perhaps you’ve done a lot of self-work already, but still feel disconnected, anxious, or stuck in patterns that don’t make sense.

I help clients who are healing from trauma, attachment wounds, and the lingering effects of stress in both mind and body. Our work together focuses on creating a sense of safety first, safety to slow down, feel, and notice what your body has been holding. From there, we’ll gently explore what your nervous system has been trying to protect, allowing for new ways of relating, releasing, and restoring balance.

With extensive training in somatic and trauma-informed approaches, I understand that healing isn’t just about insight, it’s about experience. I believe change happens in the small moments of connection, curiosity, and compassion we build together. My role is to walk beside you as you reconnect to your body’s wisdom, rediscover your authenticity, and begin to trust your capacity for healing again.

My Mission:
My core values are to meet clients with genuineness, care, empathy, and acceptance for their personal wisdom.

To walk with clients on their journey, collaborating on their unique goals for health and happiness. Develop an intentional practice of acceptance and support, tempered with gentle challenges that foster lasting change.
My Journey:
I have enjoyed calling North Texas home for the last couple of decades. While completing a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from UNT and a Master’s of Art in Counseling Psychology from TWU, I studied feminist/multicultural theory and conducted research in acculturation, attachment, and assessment.

It was during this time, I reconnected with my roots in service work and made the decision to devote myself to helping others, one-on-one. Since becoming a licensed counselor, I have pursued advanced training in treating addiction, complex trauma, acute trauma, and co-occurring mental health issues.

FAQs

  • How do you approach healing from complex trauma?
By honoring your pace, strengthening safety, and integrating body- and attachment-informed work.

  • Can therapy help me feel more connected to myself and others?
Yes. As regulation and self-trust grow, connection to the self and others usually becomes more accessible and feels safer to the nervous system.

  • What should I expect when starting therapy for long-term trauma?
A slow, collaborative start: goals, grounding tools, and clarity about boundaries and consent. We start the process by meeting you where you are at, and moving forward slowly and intentionally.

Self-Care Rituals:

I prioritize the practices of mindfulness and creating balance. I enjoy taking hikes with my wife, daily walks with my dog Gus, meditation, and spending time in the garden, when the sun permits.
