While I call Texas home, my earliest years of life were spent living in California before moving to Texas. I became captivated by the mental health field while in high school, and I have continued to seek education and experiences related to the study of Psychology with fervor and passion. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2015 and my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in 2019. Currently, I am working towards receiving my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University. I am an advocate for self-care, and I believe that I am at my best when I prioritize my needs as they arise on a moment-by-moment basis. My self-care practices include spending time with my friends and family, engaging in rest, playing video games, immersing myself in music, and watching tv shows across many of the streaming platforms.
As a therapist, I deeply consider collaboration and authenticity within our therapeutic relationship as cornerstones to healing and growth. I’ve come to understand that healing looks differently for everyone and that it’s important to tailor our shared time to helping you achieve the vision you have for your life. Interpersonal feedback can be very beneficial in helping us learn how we’re being seen by others and how we can advocate for the ways we’d like to be treated. Therefore, you’ll find it commonplace for us to exchange feedback with one another about your progress and experience of our time in therapy. Also, it can be challenging to navigate areas where you may feel stuck in patterns that aren’t serving you anymore, speaking up for what you need from others, or feeling comfortable sharing the purest form of yourself with others. Regardless of what has brought you in, you can rest assured that we’ll work together to identify skills that will bring you safety, comfort, and lasting change.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, integrative, and rooted in Interpersonal Process Therapy, LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy, and Feminist-Multicultural Therapy. With my LGBTQ+ affirmative training and as someone within the community, I integrate all aspects of my training, studies, and personal understanding of LGBTQIA+ concerns and development into my therapeutic approach. My hope is that our collaborative work together can help you understand yourself better, improve your interpersonal relationships, and empower you to lead an authentic life.
